Calibration: Each channel is calibrated independently using dry and wet reference points. The resulting percentage is a practical irrigation-management scale, not laboratory volumetric water-content measurement.
Control and integration

Four low-voltage control outputs connect to a separate compatible external relay module for pumps, valves, fans, lights and other controlled loads.
Wi-Fi, MQTT, the GSD Dashboard and Home Assistant provide open integration paths. IEEE 802.15.4 hardware supports project-specific Thread/Matter firmware packages where validated.

Battery backup and performance
Approximately 3,000 mAh 18650 backup battery
Development testing has demonstrated approximately 30 hours of continuous operation in a specific configuration while evaluating automation rules every 10 seconds.
Runtime depends on reporting interval, Wi-Fi signal, sensor configuration, battery condition, sleep current and active gateway functions. The battery is intended as backup power, not the primary operating supply.
